Travelling
Ashford already enjoys
excellent road, rail, air and sea transport links, yet a
multi-million pound investment programme coupled to a new high
speed rail link in 2009, will mean they will get even
better.
Considerable improvements in town centre
connections will lead to the creation of an interchange between
buses, trains and taxis and so improve access and routes across
Ashford.
The Town Centre and
Transportation Working Group oversees the co-ordination of key
transport and development projects by:
- Promoting a transport plan that aims to provide sustainable
transport for everyone.
- Maximising the funding sources from Government, partners and
developers.
- Co-ordinating the delivery of the transport plan.
