Iconic building taking shape

As the latest construction shots show a stunning new building is swiftly making an impression on the town’s landscape.

Ashford Gateway Plus is a joint project between Kent County Council and Ashford’s Future and will bring the town’s library, Gateway and numerous public services into one iconic new building for the town.

The striking three-storey building, replacing the old library and featuring the first green roof on a public building in Ashford, will open summer 2011.

The windows and white render to the outside of the building are currently being put in place, while inside the internal walls and fixtures and fittings are being fitted.
