Ashford has an opportunity to deliver high quality, sustainable development in a responsible way in line with its predicted growth.

A plan has been developed to help reduce Ashford's environmental impact and promote excellent environmental practice. It aims to increase the importance of environmental sustainability and encourage individuals. businesses and communities to make a difference.

In addition, a proposed Ecological Footprint study for Ashford will measure the progress being made on sustainable development. The outcomes will be incorporated into the plan.

The aims are to:

• Reduce the environmental impact of Ashford’s growth.
• Actively promote excellent environmental practice in all aspects of the Ashford’s Future programme.
